The mission of the Costa Mesa Senior Center is to improve
and maintain a healthy and independent lifestyle and to maximize the
quality of life among the older adult population of Costa Mesa, California
and the surrounding community through the provision of programs that
will promote dignity and self-esteem and foster independence and self
determination.
O’Neal Consulting Services provided program development
and revenue generating support to the Center.
Eureka Communities Los Angeles

Eureka’s mission is to increase the capacity of
executive directors of community-based organizations to improve the
lives of children, youth and families living in poverty. Eureka empowers
leaders of nonprofit organizations by providing them with fellowships
that enable opportunities for peer-to-peer learning, exposing them
to effective methods of practice around the country, and creating
forums for learning exchange.
O’Neal Consulting Services assisted Eureka
Communities’ Los Angeles area office in the development of their
strategic plan by conducting focus groups with their previous fellows
to gather feedback to inform the future direction of their training
program.
Health Funders Partnership of Orange County

The Health Funders Partnership of Orange County (the
Partnership) is a collaboration of small and mid-sized foundations
that joined forces in 1999 to address critical health needs in Orange
County, California. The Partnership undertakes multi-year funding
initiatives, short-term projects, incubates community projects and
selectively endorses external projects that help fulfill the ultimate
goal of the Partnership: systemic change.
This was a multi-contract client over a six-year
period where O’Neal Consulting Services provided a wide range
of services for the Partnership that included: program design and
implementation, RFP development, strategic direction, collaborative
relationship building and maintenance, logistical support, technology
assistance, administrative oversight and revenue generation.
Washington Area Women’s Foundation

The Washington Area Women’s
Foundation is dedicated to making empowerment, economic security and
self-reliance a reality for low-income, women-headed families in the
Washington Metropolitan Area. Their mission is to foster a powerful
wave of philanthropy to improve the lives of all women and girls through:
donor education and engagement, grantmaking and leadership development,
and public awareness programs and research.
This is a multi-contract client. To date we have:
conducted a national executive search for their Director of Development
& Philanthropic Services position, restructured their giving circle
program, and assisted in refining and increasing their outreach to
communities of color relative to their resource development efforts.
Women & Philanthropy

Women & Philanthropy is a national leadership organization
with nearly 600 individual members and over 80 institutional members.
Through its groundbreaking publications, research reports, conferences,
and services, the organization educates, mobilizes, inspires, and
leads mainstream and new philanthropy to promote equitable funding
for women and girls while empowering diverse women’s leadership.
This is a multi-contract client. OCS was retained
to provide six months of interim executive leadership of this national
organization, followed by creating and implementing a plan of action
for a strategic restructuring of the organization.
YWCA of the Harbor Area
The mission of the YWCA of the Harbor Area is to foster
the economic empowerment, physical and emotional well-being of women
and girls in a world of peace, racial justice, dignity and freedom
and equality for all.
O’Neal Consulting Services provided capacity building
assistance specific to their newly launched development efforts. Specifically,
we: developed a strategy specifically tailored to meet their unique
needs, conducted prospect research for funders interested in investing
in building the internal fundraising capacity of organizations, and
provided coaching to leadership on implementing the strategy.
